blog post #8

1. a. I personally have not encountered an experience in which i had to differentiate the language i speak at home with the one i speak in school. Although one of my best friends in high school did. She is Hispanic and she was raised speaking Spanish, but when she was at school she was forced to speak English.
b. With the different vocabulary I am going to me forced to use in my field of study can relate to speaking two different languages. I am in the college of education studying exercise science and most of the terms used could not be comprehend without some type of medical background.
c. I strongly believe that in order to succeed in this career I must 'belong' to the language. without knowing the proper terms for the body parts or muscle groups, i will never be a successful therapist. In order to be able to do my jobs i need to belong to the language in order to heal my patients.
2. a. Although you may feel that as you grew older, you may have lose some type of connection to your family. unfortunately, as you mature something has got to give. It is time to leave your comfortable life style and enter the one needed to build your life upon.
b.I believe that having intimacy with the language of my career path is possible. It is obviously something I am interested in since i chose it for my life career. Therefore, I believe the more I learn about the language of exercise science, the more I will be interested in.
c. I personally believe the sacrifice that was made was worth it. Although I feel that Rodriguez feels differently. He is more focused on what he lost rather than the outcome.
