Writing is one of the most important skills students learn throughout college. The writing process allows students to gather thoughts and organize them in the appropriate order before beginning their writing. Unfortunately, most professors today rather students to focus on the academic world view rather than the students personal world view. Multiple students, are not able to fully express themselves when being stripped from their own opinions. If students were allowed to use their own world view, they could better express themselves. Also, these students would most likely exert more effort into their work because they are able to write about something they are interested in rather than focusing on someone else's opinion.
As I previously mentioned, I strongly believe that education can coexist with extra-curriculum activities. In my opinion, student's personal interest added to education will help them stay focused on their education. The more education and hobbies are combined the better chance the student will remain interested and dedicated. Although, students must draw the line somewhere. Education is not something to play around with now to just treat it as just another hobby. Students must manage their time in a way in which they have time away from the commitments in order to strongly focus on their studies. Time for work and no play!
